If an error message is displayed regarding the payment date, while e-filing FPS Returns to HMRC, it is due to the following reason:

Your stated Payment Date belongs to a future tax month which is not allowed. You can now only e-file your FPS return with a Payment Date that is within or before the current tax month.

Please Note: Tax months run from the 6th of one month to the 5th of the next month.
